Hi all,

I'm new and have been reading the forum with great interest. I'm about to install an after market Joying unit so many posts were very useful. However, I have a different problem now:

My XC90 (built 2002, model 2003) has some problems with the parking brake. Before I attend to those I want the brake warning light to work. I keep forgetting the parking brake and since they hardly work it's a nuissance because I realize mainly after driving several minutes. So I dove into VIDA and with some diagrams got to the pedal and where the switch should be only to find there doesn't seem to be a switch. I can't find any loose wire harness etc. It looks like there is no switch at all and never has been. I was wondering if I maybe have a "automatic parking brake convert" but since it's a 2002(3) model that's highly unlikely right? Could it be somewhere else? The light does light up when starting etc. No errors there. Oh, before I forget, it's a 2.5T.

Anybody any ideas? Regards, Saffi

You mus have a parking brake switch, it was fitted to all models.

Go back to VIDA, make sure you selected the correct car and correct market area

Then look at VIDA and look at your car again.

I guess I'll just take it out. From what I can find it's on the back maybe.
