Mods, can this be moved to the OBD section (or whichever applies.) Thanks.

The vehicle is the 2005 S40 listed below.

iv never seen codes like this.. you should go to an autozone and have them pull the DTC's and give us the PO#'s

Thanks for the reply, I cleared them after reading. If/when they come back, I'll head to autozone.

ECM-740C Communication, central electronic module (CEM). Signal too high
ECM-21CC Long-term fuel trim, idling, bank 1. Upper limit
ECM-21EB Long-term fuel trim, bank 1. Signal missing
CEM-3A00 ECM software. Faulty signal

740c and 3a00 mean you have a "tune". They never go away. Other two may be a problem if they reappear .

Thank you very much. I cleared them and they came back. I'm going to clear it again & install the stock tune (to narrow it down to something other than the tune....hopefully.)

Just one thing I noticed that my ECM-740C cant be erased even if you put the stock tune in. Unless you disconnect the battery for a few minutes.

Not what I would expect but erase the codes and disconnect your battery if the other ECM codes dont get erased.

Took her to my Indy, it is the airbox which is a recall item.

He said something about a bullitin and the repair being free at the dealer. Forgive me, I was very tired this morning. I'll post when I get more info from the dealer.

Correct sir. The oil box (plastic unit that houses the oil filter) does not last problem free "for as long as Volvo would like it to last" so they are covering the total cost of repair upon diagnosis.

Repaired by Volvo of Edison yesterday and the cost was zero dollars and zero cents because of they are extending the warranty for the airbox and attached hose going from airbox to the head. They also updated the computers and cleaned her up with a wash & vac. Finally got a chance to enjoy her on the ride home this morning! Of course I tuned her before my drive ;) Thanks for your help SSers.

I'm back with another code for the Guru's! Please tell about 8C20. I searched and found the other three (looks like it's time for the fuel pressure sensor) but this one has eluded me. Thanks again!

Also great write up and info on the FPS!

EDIT:

LOL I found it for you! It's under central electronic module!

Vehicle System CENTRAL ELECTRONIC MODULE
Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 8C20
DTC Definition: Rear Fog Lamp Faulty Signal

Your rear fog light bulb is probably dead or not in contact properly :p

it's not 820C rather than 8C20?
I found this link but cannot find the code for you:
http://www.actron.com/code_lookup.php

Also an other SS source:
