Hi all,

I checked on motosnoop and it says the title is clear but ad for car says rebuilt title. Car was sold previously to owner and they have no info on what happened to the car to have the title change.

If you're serious about the car, get it professionally inspected.

I've used this services in the past. I guess the cover the United States, and go to where ever the car is.

Car Saints saved me from buying a car that had frame damage, yet had a clean title and car fax report!

Thanks, but I am just trying to see if it is even worth me going (3 hours) to look at and having a ppi done at a garage I know local to the car.
Cheers,

For a 17 year old V70R, I don't know how much it matters at this point.

That said, check out NMVTIS. For $5 it's a pretty comprehensive search that looks at different databases than Autocheck/Carfax with a particular focus on title branding. (Note, I am not affiliated with them in any way, but learned about it in the process of getting my S60 listed for sale, and was pretty impressed.)

It was crashed very early on in it's life, almost when it was brand new. It has been rebuilt and driven for 16 years so I'd say if it is still running rebuilt really doesn't matter.

i have the same experience with my t5m-wagon. total loss at 8k miles from some hail in TX, still runs good at 170k.
the fun part was the glass chards in sunroof drains that I had to deal with recently.

I saw that on one autocheck and wondered...

If the car was almost brand new and got crashed and totaled then - it had to be a major crash and severe damage. No way would I want to take a chance like that on a car I want to keep and invest my time and money in.

Cheers,
M

if it was crashed, then it would show up as an accident in the report. theft, hail, or flood will not show up as the accident, but will still cause total loss.

can you post up the info you found? Might help someone out in the future when they search the VIN in google.
