Hi

It’s been on my list to fix the headlight issue. My mechanic said if was a defective HCM module located under the drivers seat.

Considering the cost and knowing I’m a DIY type of guy he suggested I go to the scrapyard and get one and swap it myself.

So I did and I have 3 now. I’ve swapped all 3 cleared the DTC and I still have the error.

My reader gives the following error:

Communication with HCM control module signal missing.

Obviously I’m doing something wrong.

Is this a plug and play item or did I pick up 3 defective modules?

Thanks

Alex

IDK if that module requires programming or not but it sounds like bad wiring, ground or connectors, not the module.

That’s what I’m wondering. If it needs programming I can get that done at the dealer.

If not I’ll keep working on it.

Well for the record I found a cut wire.

A bit of solder and heat shrink and it’s working.

But for some reason the driver’s footwell foam is all wet?

One problem solved on to the next.

Glad you found the bad wire.
Anytime I have a wet floor I check heater core and sunroof drain tubes.
Good luck!
