Camshaft markings

Are Volvo cams clearly marked C, D, or whatever? Is there an easy way to find out what it is without completely pulling it out of the engine? Mine is still in the car, which is a 1963 PV544 with a B18D. Just wondering since IPD has D cams on sale right now, and I am tempted. I think mine is probably still stock, but not sure. I would not get to this job until Springtime at the earliest.

The C cam I pulled out of my B18 has C stamped on the end. Unfortunately not the end you see when you pull off the timing cover. The only thing I can think of is using a dial indicator and measuring lift. I recently measured about .285" of cam lift on my D cam. The C cam I have removed is really worn out and has about .250" of lift. I think a new C cam should have about .263" of lift at the cam.
