Caliper Paint??

Hey guys. I've got a black C70 riding on 17" silver canistos. After adding the sport mesh grill, my car looks a lot more sporty. I think that painting the caliperrs would help out looks a lot too. I was thinking about painting them red? What do you think? <br><BR><BR>

If you want them to stand out, the red will do the job. But sometimes those caliper paints fade out after a period of time. Unless you can get them powder coated.<p>Black will last longer but won't be as flashy. Silver paint just wouldn't look good.

I'll post pics when I can borrow my friend's digital camera. I relocated the horns to a bracked under the left side of the front air dam. It was a royal pain, I'd recomend drilling two simple holes like eastern aerospace shows, the way I did it works, but it is hard because the two horns have to attatch to one hole.

Is there actual paint specifically made for brake calipers? And is there a type of store to find it(ei. home depot, kragen? etc). I figure with all the junk flying around it, it's gotta be tough paint. I tried estes model paint on my other volvo and it looked great for a few months, but since it's kind of soft, it didn't last long.

It is tough and can withstand the heat. I know that iPd sells the stuff (<A HREF="http://www.ipdusa.com" TARGET="_blank">http://www.ipdusa.com</a>) and I would imagine that a performace auto supply house should carry it, especially if it caters to the European and Japanese crowds. Then again I bet one of those American muscle shops might. So I guess it entails a lot calling around if you don't want to mail order.

I believe you can use high temp engine enamel like they sell at Pep Boys or Autozone.

Re: Caliper Paint?? (mtbman11)

I just got done painting them today. The red looks awesome, it matches the tailights. Now I'm looking for a way to tie the red into the front some how. My grill is the ABS one from IPD. I was thinking about putting just a red Volvo logo from eastern aerospace in the middle, any other ideas? Thanks guys.

I painted my calipers red on Friday. I used High Temp Engine enamel. It looks really nice IMHO, just a touch of red looks great against the black. Now if i could figure out what to do about the front.....
