Here are the results of my first 100-200 km/h run after upgrading to K16 turbo. The run was started at app. 70 km/h in 3rd gear. The results were taken with Dynomaster application on HTC Android phone, speed was measured using GPS data. Here is the Excel log directly from the phone, as you can see 100-200 km/h acceleration took 11.6 sec:

P.S. you can compare this 100-200 figure by substracting 200 and 100 kph times from this data. All these cars have similar power-to weight ratio to my C70 which weights 1714 kg and has app. 400PS at the flywheel:

Nice Kova! i didn't realize you got the K16 in.
i take it you are running the Autotech tune for it?
thank you for sharing the data (although the kmh always confuses me).
butt dyno - is there a noticeable difference / how does it feel?

yes, Autotech tune.

it's app. 62 - 124 mph run. with stock turbo and Autotech stage 3 tune it took me 17.5 sec for the same run. :)

I can describe the difference as simply amazing - instead of sudden boost attack from stock turbo which looses steam very quickly as RPM raises Autotech tune manages to make our T5 engine with K16 turbo act as V8 NA engine that pulls continuously throughout the whole RPM range. As tune is not still finished only minor boost "fluctuations" around 3500 RPM are letting down this illusion, but once the tune is polished the magic would be complete.. :p

i am certainly no math genius but that has to be like 400 million times faster.
"simply amazing" is understatement.

please someone (ahem kova, madden) get the k16 on a dyno....

Gratz! Once the tune is complete, I will put it on the Dyno. And I concur the car pulls like a V8, but stronger. My other Volvo is a V8 conversion, headers, cams, etc. The V50 is way faster.

Yes, 6 seconds. :)

I'll try to take it to the dyno as soon as I catch some time. Judging by this time run figure it should be close to 400HP on the flywheel or app. 350whp.

This dyno was measured by Autotech UK distributor, the car has same mods and same tune as madden's and mine:

I tried once to drive this beauty with V8 engine - now I don't envy the owner any more! :D



P.S. this M3 Cabrio takes 12.4 sec for 100-200 km/h, probably a little stronger but weights 160 kg more then my C70

Now that you've compared your 100 to 200 kph to your #'s with the stage III, that's simply impressive!! I hope your out having lots of fun and surprising all those unsuspecting sports cars. I think the greatest payoff of the performance mods are when you display them to a car that would otherwise leave one of our cars in stock form wanting!!

Thank you guys!

Keep in mind that my C70 (1714 kg when empty) is heavier then C30/S40/V50 so your figures would be better. :D

I was also glad to notice that fuel consumption increased only app. 5% in the city (with my average speed of 24 km/h which means a lot of rush hours when going to and coming back from work) and remained the same on highway driving with K16 RS turbo.

that number would be exactly 100 whp more than i put down on AWD dyno with my stage III autotech tune on the k04. (250 whp / 333 #ft torque).
so basically the turbo upgrade will give you 100 horses at the wheels. about $40 per horse. sounds fair.

You probably won't have 100 whp gain because of higher losses in AWD (I had app. 275 whp with FWD with pretty much the same mods as you but with Ferrita full exhaust with 100 CEL cat), but beside that your calculation seems correct. :)

You can have the tune written to limit low end torque.

There is less torque steer then with stock turbo and Stage 3 tune. :)

I have Quaife LSD.
