If you don't mind me asking what would I have to do. I want to get the Kenwood Mp3 in dash unit.Where I'm a little confused about is will I lose the Prologic option or is it coming from the Amp? Another thing where is the amp located in the car? I have pulled the radio out but couldn't see it and I just didn't want to start taking things out until I knew what I was doing. Don't want to get greedy and ruin a great car for MP3 music.
Thanks for your help.

The Prologic module/processor is a seperate unit, and I'm not sure if you will work with your new radio. I don't think I have the factory prologic function working anymore, but still have the center speaker hooked up.
If you think the prologic function is really worth the effort, you can always go out a buy another multimedia processor like unit.

quote:
Originally posted by dcbeltran:
Another thing where is the amp located in the car?

It's in the left side of the trunk and behind the carpet.
Did you have to use a seperate amp to have the center channel running or did you use existing one? Who would be a good person or company to get parts from? I would like to deal with someone that is knowledgable with the Volvo system. I have gone to some stereo shops and the all want to do is custom jobs. I just don't want to do that right now.

Rest of the speakers are powered by a seperate amp.
It is going to be a rather custom job. Make sure you are committed for it before you start forking out cash that you didn't want to. The factory system is already very decent the way it is, but it could have been even better. I wouldn't take such a nice car to places like Circuit City or Best Buy...unless you don't really care about the quality of the result.

Yhea I hear you. I have had custom jobs before to my other vehicles. I was just hoping for a quick solution without the custom job. I don't know if having an MP3 player is worth the custom job. But it sure would be nice to replace all my cd's with just a few! But I much rather drop the cash in modifying my car some.

Or a CD burner for your home PC.
