What is the difference with the '02 C70 lights?

Yes, I need to do that. http://********************/smile/emsmile.gif They look really nice. My low beams have poor illumination, IMHO. I'd love to figure a way to integrate real HIDs like those on Audi cars.

Speaking of headlights, is there a euro headlight switch that will eliminate DRLs? Also allow for running the fog lights with just the running lights?

I don't know about your V70, but my 850 had what looked like a little screw on the headlight switch. Turning it disabled the DRLs, but I think the foglights are hardwired to operate the way they do. You could always create a separate circuit though. http://********************/smile/emwink.gif

Chris,
George is right about the srew thingy for the headlight and the fogs. My friend did that for his V70, so his fogs can stay on while DRLs are off.
I turn off my DRLs now just b/c I'm a bit paranoyed running those cheap HIDs all the time.
If I don't make it up for the GTG this Sunday, we can always meet up in NoVA to have you look at my HID with E-Code lenses setup.
You can always find this video in the C70 section of my car doing a flyby to get a better idea how my lights look now.

I think this will be a modification very soon. I don't need to fix the motor in the Caddy just yet. http://********************/smile/emsmile.gif

Re: C70 Headlights Compatible with V70? (Evolvo)

I just called my dealer, he shows a VIN break for the C70 but the lights are the same. The new '03 new lights don't look to be showing up in the parts computer just yet. He was not sure if they have any on the lot.

Yannis, maybe you can grab the part number off the lenses on yours?

I am going to try and stop by there tonight. He also gave me a good price on 17" Satellites in Antricite, so if I make it I'll be ordering them. http://********************/smile/emsmile.gif

With enough effort and $$$ anything can happen, but NO..won't be a direct fit. Just check the dimension and you'd know.

Re: C70 Headlights Compatible with V70? (The_one_n_only)

If you don't view the C70 Forum Kai is keeping a log of what is needed to convert to '03 headlights. Here is where we stand:

To add MY2003 headlamps to our 98-00 S/V/C70s we will need to:

1. purchase 2003 housings
- approx cost is: $ 230~240.00 each
- correct part numbers are [xxxxxx] .....will update this one later
- recommended dealer/vendor is: Borton, Dennis is on vacation, when he gets back I will find out if he can source the ECE one which has H7 bulbs. The guy really has his ways around ordering European spec volvo parts at discount prices.

2. purchase H11 bulbs, approx cost is: NONE, it comes with the housing already, unless you want to purchase aftermarket ones.

3. ?? change the 98-00 plug to connect to new bulbs ??
So far I can't see why you would, but I can confirm this if anyone is willing to meet up with me and compare the housings. I don't even know where my old plugs are after I change to HIDs.

4. ?? purchase 2003 corner lenses to complete the look ??
Could be done, but at this point I'm after the projector project. And I think even without the '03 clear corners would be fine...something like E36 with ECE corners look if you keep the old corners.

5. ?? going HID with these lenses is still up in the air ??
As mentioned, at this point, I'll wait for HIDs4Less' Mike's feedback once he gets the housing. If we are looking more than reasonable $$$ to do the conversion for projectors I'll ask them to just simply make H11 base HID bulbs for me to use with my current K2 kit.
