I love my convertible, and if I had my way, I'd basically always have the top and windows down. But, I have a wife and daughter (2 yr-old). Poor daughter hates having the top down on the freeway. I know wind deflectors are supposed to make the front cabin less windy, which I don't really care about, but, with the windows up, would it keep most the wind off of my daughter? I was thinking of something like this:

(As the Volvo one makes it impossible for the daughter to sit back there at all...)

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

No this won't help the back seat riders at all.
With the top down and the windows up, these deflectors keep the wind from hitting the front seat riders on the back of their heads.

I was thinking that it reduced wind blown in the front seats by forcing more of the air to go over the car, rather than through the cabin, hence, would help the rear-seats as a by product.
