Buying used xc90....is CPO warranty worth it?

Hello all - glad to be here. My wife's lease on her '07 s40 is coming to the end of the line, and we are set on purchasing a used 2007 xc90 - probably the v8 model. My question is whether the Certified warranty is worth it or not. Most dealers are charging an extra $1000 to $1500 for the vehicle to be CPO. Looking at the MY 2007, it seems as if factory warranties will take us out to 2011 or 50k, and the CPO warranty will take us to 2013 or 100k. In all honesty, reaching the mileage cap will not be an issue as her daily commute is minimal, but I am wondering if the extra 2 years worth of coverage is worth that $1000 to $1500. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

Wondering about the same thing. Sounds like CPO basically offer additional 2 years or up to 100K miles? Is it the same as VIP? Thanks.

2yrs is definitely worth $1,000-$1,500.

anyone else able to chime in? What exactly does the CPO cover that makes it worth the $1000?

I believe it's definitely worth it and won't own another Volvo without it. It covers everything with zero deductible. Well worth the money, I think. We just bought our 07 XC90 and I actually purchased an additional year to take it to 2014 or 100K miles. We will never make a payment on it without it being under warranty, which is huge with Volvos, I think.

Hi, Husker Z, thanks for your input. I am also thinking of purchasing an additional year (to make it 7 years) if I buy next car with a CPO warranty. I was wondering if you could share with me how much more an additional year will cost. It appears most of the cars with CPO in our local dealer are certified for 6 year program. Thanks.

I believe I went with the one year option with $100 deductible and I think it was $1100.
