Sometime ago, I sought help from the folks here on whether it was insane to buy a v70R sight unseen. I got a lot of input; it was very appreciated. But I wanted to answer my own question:
YES!!!!!!!!.
I had run a carfax and had an inspection done at an independent shop as well as at a Volvo dealership. Got a written commitment from the seller to buy it back if I was not satisfied. So I built the trip to Grand Rapids into a business trip, signed the papers, plugged my address into the nav system, and headed for Nashville.
Three weeks later, I love it. It is a mt, and has all packages plus atacama and nav and the all important integrated booster seats. The atacama is different, but I am really growing to like it. A lot of folks have commented that they like it, even though it is so different looking. (A few folks around here have raised their eyebrows that it''s Longhorn orange instead of Volunteer orange ). The first owner had replaced the Rosso's with General Exclaim UHP's at 15k (it had 18K when I picked it up).
I'm not an autocrosser or part time racer, but I have pushed it some where traffic and roads permit and love the difference. It is heads and shoulders above anything I have ever owned. I have felt the sidehop, severely , so I took it in for the upgraded suspension bushing and alignment. It has improved it significantly. I pressed my service mgr on springs and sways, but he was pretty clear that he wasn't going to bat for me. After reading about a couple of other owners who have had trouble with the 4C and had warranty coverage denied, it's not worth the risk to me. I'm a warranty coward after I had a timing belt go on my '98 with no warranty protection. So it will probably remain stock for quite some time, because I will get the extended warranty. (Anyone know if Stillman is having a group buy again?)
One question: I occasionally get a pop, almost a back fire, when I clutch to upshift either from 2-3 or 3-4. My serv mgr said that was normal (not good, but normal) for the way the exhaust system was engineered. Any one know anything about this?
I intend to make a few, non-threatening mods/customizations. Need to get a tint, and am trying to choose and iPod adapter (ipd or oem). Intend to get the dash cupholder, hopefully to use for a ipod mount. The software downloads that I am thinking about are adjusting the seat heater temp and 5 mph doorlock. Any others to do? I also like the Heico door pins. And of couse, must have the moose.
Thanks to all for you input. I look forward hanging out for at least another 5 years or 81,000 miles, which ever come first.

Oh yeah the "pop". Yeah that was "designed-in". "They all do that" yada yada, BS BS. It's fuel dumping when spark gets pulled at high boost. Run a 100/9x ocatane 30/70 blend and you'll probably never hear it again.
Otherwise get used to it and learn to time it on short-shifts and you can chase pedestrians out of your way. It's kind of fun.

Congrats on the new car.
With it being road construction season in Ohio and the rough roads I am also thinking about having the bushing thing done as the unsettled rear is bothering me more.
I also bought my car sight unseen and it worked out fine.

Trust me on this, it'll make it worse.
Hey, congrats on your purchase Mr. Nashville. Enjoy, pops and all!

Congrats on the R....one piece of advice that I'm sure other Ata owners will agree with...be sure to treat the leather regularly....most of us seem to prefer Lexol (me too). Works great, and keeps it supple. Ata's bit more maintenance than treated leather, but the wow factor can't be beat...I have the Ata booster seats like you....the kids don't realize how cool that is...
