So, i'm sure a lot of you know my car. Since it's a new trend, I thought I would start a thread on my car, and my progress.

Back in 2007, my first car I bought was a 1999 Volvo S80 2.9l. Basically it was so slow, that I needed something better to represent Volvo! I owned that car for about a year, and I did a couple of mods to it. basically 17" pegs. Here are some pictures of the car.

So, I finally found my perfect car, a 2001 Volvo S60 T5 Manual. Completely stock, and was awesome, I thought it was great. I always wanted an S60, especially a T5M. Here are some pictures of my car completely stock.

I kept it stock for a while (A while being about a month
) My first mod on the car was a set of 18" Titanium Pegs. I really liked these wheels. The car had stock suspension so it was sitting pretty high.

My next mod that I did was a full exhaust. I got a custom turbo-back exhaust for $460. I went out with a buddy of mine and took pictures and videos. I just wanted to let everyone know, I HATE my exhaust tip, it's complete rice, I'm trying to get a new one.

My next mod was to do FULL suspension. I did springs, struts, sways, endlinks, and a strut tower brace. Over the winter, I was in a financial crisis at school, and I ended up selling my pegs. I thought it would be lame to be on my stock wheels, and considering I love BLACK wheels, I painted them ASAP. At the same time, I cleared the corners, and removed the headlight washers. I'm still trying to find the wheels I really want, but I can't find them, or they are WAY too expensive. At that time, I also got a stage II tune from iPd.

So, those mods were done over the LONG winter. I was happy it started to become nice out here in MA, so I decided it was finally time for an S60R bumper, and a FMIC. The pics to follow are the current status of the car. Enjoy

Current Mod List

iPd Stage II Tune
Full Custom Turbo-Back Exhaust (2.5")
SIMOTA Cold Air Intake
Custom Front Mount Intercooler

Eibach Pro-Kit Springs
Bilstein front & fear Struts
iPd front & rear swaybars
Quick Brick Motors Endlinks
Strut Tower Brace

The Future

I really want to do a Garrett 3076R, but I'm not going to add more power to a FWD platform. At this time, I am saving up for an S60R so I can have an R with 400WHP. I've also considered going to Audi, because there is just such a better community, and the aftermarket options are just so much better. I love the cars Volvo has made, but in the end, I'm a car enthusiast, and I just want a proper car. We'll see what happens. I'll keep this thread updated on things I am planning in the future.

Re: Build Thread: cmurphy2266 S60 T5M (cmurphy2266)

I am so jealous of the "R" front end, not only looks nicer than stock but also gives more room for the FMIC

EDIT: do your fogs work? You do not have then turned on in any of the pictures

Thanks for the thread.... Great seeing the progress made on the car... and the FMIC looks great on there, and it sounds really nice too in that vid. The black wheels are a nice touch, even if you had to lose the pegs.

Again, nice car man!!

And I do understand it when you say the FWD has it's limitations...

Re: (cmurphy2266)

I just ran outside to get a picture of what I did today. I was considering filling the marker with bondo, but I didn't have time, so that is for next time.

I was trying to go for this look, and in proper light, and with a good picture, I nailed it. This picture is of Johann's S60 T5, known at Swededemon 5.

You need to fill those wiper arm diviets on the front bumper. I have a set if you are looking for them.

Are they already painted or are they just primered? I'm curious of how it looks with the fillers in. How much would you let them go for?

I couldnt help but notice that on the passenger side of your car the black molding on the front door is lighter then the back door.

It's probobly just the angle of light. I used the "Forever Black" product, and I'm planning on going over again with another coat.

They are still bare. $45 shipped.

cmurph..... do you already know how you will address the current exhaust tip you're using now?

Do you have another muffler/tip you plan on going with in the future since you didn't care for the one you have now?

I know I hate it too. I'm planning on doing dual tips.

The guy who did the exhaust for me told me that anything above 2.5" is overkill. He's worked on twin turbo V8 engines, and he sees no performance gain with the 3".

well maybe this is one time that he is wrong...talking about OUR cars a 3" will make a lot of difference, also the 3" dp will allow the turbo to spool faster and make the high temp goes away faster than stock. We have turbo car, not an NA to worry about back pressure.

I'm trying to buy a 3" downpipe from a guy in Boston, and I'll make sure to note the difference, if any.
