Right front tire; is this something I should be concerned about? The tires are just about shot and will be replaced within the next few months. Thanks!

Re: Bubble in my tire (nat_tex)

Doesnt look like a bubble, they are real obvious. Not sure what they call those ripples, but I have
seen several of them with no problems.
Also, those tires look like they have lots of wear left.

Re: Bubble in my tire (dmd)

Even with the lots of tread left, there is only one reason a tire gets a bubble or ripple and thats belt separation.
If it was me, I'd get it warrantied if you can, or toss the tire out.

Re: Bubble in my tire (cdnx90)

My new Michelin tires with 10 miles on them have bumps on them like that, as do ones with
35,000.. I would guess it isnt an issue. Have you looked at the other tires and other cars? Look
close and you can see the same thing.

Re: Bubble in my tire (dmd)

I got Michelin PS2's on my R 4,500 miles ago. One tire bubbled, bigger than that, but not too much. I took them off. No reason to risk a blow out when I got two kids. I would do the same on my XC90, but maybe I drive mine a bit harder than most. Your call, but the side wall has been compromised.

Agree with those who say it isn't really a bubble.
Keep an eye on it, but the way it is right now, its not going to blow out.

Thanks for the replies all! Normally, I don't worry about this kind of stuff but we're expecting now so I turned the XC over to the wife so she can have the safer car. I'm back driving it until I get the tires replaced.

Both sets of all terrain tires I had on my last Z71 had them. It has to have something to do with how they are made. Watch it, but I wouldn't worry about it.

Re: (Husker Z)

I'd only expect it to be normal if they were cheapo models made by Good-for-a-year, or somebody has been pinching them on curbs, or rocks while offroading.
