Just curious if there are any members of the forum that live in the Washington, DC metro area that use the BSR ppc? I'm seriously contemplating it, they claim 54hp with no other mods and I'm just curious about feedback from those that have it installed.
Maybe catch a ride

Zigger will tell you that it makes his R into a S4/M3 eater.......with a GT even.

I drove R Kelly's car in Germany as he wanted some feedback. Regardless, I was really impressed with the BSR. It did rev quicker and from 4k on the car kept pulling really well. It was very smooth as well...much better than my car (stock).
If I were to get any ECU tune today, it would definately be the BSR. Also, the soft loader makes it's nearly a "no-brainer"

Re: (KVB-R)

Thanks so far for the feedback. What about any problems? Have any of you guys had any issues with reliability as a result? Do you change back to the "stock" program when you take it in to the dealer for service? How quick is the process to change between various maps?

Re: (Red60R)

I can't speak first hand, but early revision software (1.5-2 years ago) had issues with down-pipes installed. To the best of my knowledge, I haven't heard of any issues with the software, with or without down pipe in the latest PPC. I believe Johann has the BSR also, but unsure if he has a DP installed; I think he has been fairly pleased as well.
As you can see, Zigger has been excited about his tune too

We're talking with Don Beyer Volvo about a "cookout / get your child seat installed by professionals / GTG / test drive the C70, etc" in the next month or so -- hopefully we can get some modified Rs there for folks to experience.

Nice.....I'm like 5 mins from their shop at Dulles. Let me know when and I'll be there.
Another question for those that have the ppc in the US, did you purchase it from someone here or did you order from Nordic Car?

general consensus has been to stay away from partsforvolvoonline.com and go through eurosporttuning.com

Re: BSR users in MD/VA/DC? (Red60R)

Just purchased the PPC from Eurosporttuning.com, Frank was great to work with and answered all my questions. I think to softloader is the way to go, you can back out the program and put back the orginal anytime. Im not in to all that downpipe stuff, but the seat of the pants tells me that the R has alot more get up and go. Zigger did a dyno run with his car here is the link http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=55790
Graham

Re: BSR users in MD/VA/DC? (Red60R)

How about Engstrom, they're out of IL and I noticed they have the BSR for $895. Anyone deal with these guys here? Also, for those that have modded their cars, where in the DC area did you go to for the installs?

I just ordered the PPC kit from engstrom last Friday. So far, Bo has been good to deal with, he returns calls and is quite informative. Shipping seems a bit slow but it was a holiday weekend. I'll keep you posted.

Re: (IRGCCG)

Based on the guys here, I talked to Eurosport tuning, Frank is doing them for 895 (vs his 995 advertised price) if you used the forum code he posted, ppc.
