Well, I am now officially responsible for a new Volvo XC70 T6.
Details: 2009 XC70 T6 AWD, Oyster Grey Metallic, Off-black leather, Modern wood trim, 17" wheels, Premium, Climate, Convenience, Technology, BLIS, PCC, Integrated Booster Seats, Nav*, Parking Assist Camera, Mudflaps, Ticket Clip
*The nav installed in this car is not the nav which normally comes with the XC70. The dealer had the Garmin GVN-53 installed at the port; apparently this system is Volvo-certified. It's a much better system than the OEM nav (SD card based, not DVD, more modern nav system), but isn't integrated as fully--no link to stereo system, no steering wheel controls (just remote), etc.. I don't ever use the voice signals when I rent cars in Europe with nav (I hate the way it cuts into music), so the lack of integration into the sound system is totally irrelevant to me. The remote--I like it. I don't usually enter anything while driving, but this system doesn't lock out control (it can and does by default, but you can override that safety feature), so a passenger can use it without issue. So far I like it a lot, but it'll take some exploring.
Everything has gone smoothly so far.
One question--the backup camera--product shots have "curved" lines showing the trajectory for parking. Can't seem to get mine to do that and there's absolutely no documentation on this unit. Anyone know how this thing works?
And some pics (Volvo's pics are obviously better). I think you can click on the pics and get larger versions on Flickr.

Nice looking ride. The XC70 is definitely much better looking than the V70.

Beautiful car! However that NAV unit was not installed by Volvo at our port. The only Garmin we support is the 760 and /or 765 that fits in the dash mounted holder. This must be a solution the Retailer performed themselves or contracted with someone to to, definitely not an official Volvo solution. This also explains why you do not have the trajectory lines on the back up camera, they are part of the factory Nav solution.
Good luck!

Yes, you're right. I got a little confused over what was a port install and what wasn't.
The nav unit is indeed a install and they have agreed to match the car's warranty. As for the trajectory lines, oh well. The camera is a pretty nice feature but I've been parking for many years without one.

I am curious to know where the actual Nav screen is located in your car and how big the screen is?

Re: Brought home the XC70 T6 today (Lotus99)

One thing I'm noticing--I really wish Volvo hadn't used that chromed plastic (or metal, who knows) for the stereo and gearshift faceplates. I don't mind that it's metal; but holy crap does it create some nasty glare.
And whoever pointed out the horizontally challenged sun visor was right on the money. I'm going to have to kludge something together to cover that gap.
I'd generally call this nitpicking but very bright sunlight gives me migraines, so I try to done things down as much as possible.
Sweded, as Lotus99 points out, those are indeed my photos. It's basically a stock nav screen and speaker housing with non-stock brains. Cosmetically it's 100% identical (and probably part-wise too, except for the head unit).

Re: Brought home the XC70 T6 today (notthestig)

Do you know if it's possible to swap these out with some other material? I wonder if these are available in the modern wood or some non-chromed metal.
