I'm new here guys and i just wanted to show you my horror story of a 1 foot deep pothole on interstate 80 last night. Blew out both my front and rear drivers side wheels. not only blew them out but cracked the one in half!!!
not yet... im putting my stock 16s back on as i speak i just needed a little break. i almost hit a semi truck...it pulled sooo hard to the left after i hit the pot hole. next step is finding replacements...i would rather find 17 inch pegs to be honest.
I had a job in Fargo last fall and when I got off of the plane coming home I was greeted by my wife driving the '94. We made it a mile or so before she said there was a "problem" with the Platinum.
I have no idea what she hit but the tire actually survived. Persus wheels are rare.
Volvo has always used some sort of butter alloy on their wheels. I ate all 4 of the OEM wheels on one of my 740's, the IPD replacements that I replaced them with had a much better quality alloy and they looked better.
file a claim against penn dot since it's on the freeway/i80
go back when there is no traffic (sunday in the morning around 8am is usually very very light and plenty of sunlight to illuminate the hole), get on the side of the road, and take a picture of the pothole (and any signs indicating where it was on i80). digital is ok, regular old photo would be good.
go find out what else on ur suspension is messed up. i can't believe the alignment is NOT out of whack. the front strut mounts, the front control arms, the tie rods, the delta links, the rear shock mounts.. sheesh.. get it checked out.
keep all repair and replacement receipts..
file ur claim.
i'd be surprised if the don't give it to you, especially if it is a 1 foot hole on a FREEWAY.. maybe 50 bucks less for each tire since they are not new.
