Lately(started last winter) i've noticed intermittenly that a low oil pressure warning message will come on for about a second and then go away when i start the car. It's only happed about 5 times including the most recent one which was about a week or so ago. I thought maybe it was due to running heavier 10-W30 since it doesn't get cold enough in this part of texas to need to switch during the winter but i decided to switch to 5-W30 to see if that was the culprit and i still get the same message. Most of the time i get it when i first start the car after changing the oil but sometimes i'll get it first thing one random morning. Even during the summer when in my garage its still pushing 90* in the morning. Could this be an ailing oil pump? I put 6.1 qts as stated in the manual. Any thoughts?

Re: Brief low oil pressure warning... (T5Killa)

oil pan seals are bad. check your dipstick to see if it has bubbles on it. if it does you need to replace em all. usually the culprit is the pick-up tube seal. <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://********************/smile/emthup.gif" BORDER="0">
