Brembo 4 or 6 pots?

Hi,

Has anyone retrofitted 4 or 6 pot calipers on the XC90?

Had a workshop had a look at mine and the conclusion is that the OE knuckle mounting point line up directly under the brembo calipers. Hence preventing new caliper mounts(custom) from being fitted for the calipers.

If anyone had a go at this and or have a solution, I would love to hear from you.

The Rear Brembos are plug and play, absolutely no modification needed.

The Front Brembos will also work, however the XC90 uses a larger bolt for the knuckle/caliper mount (12mm vs 10mm on the S60/V70 IIRC).

You'll need to do either of the 2 things:

1. enlarge the Brembo caliper mounting hole from 10mm to 12mm.
or
2. fab a spacer for the smaller 10mm bolt to fit the 12mm knuckle mount.

But a word of advise, you're better off going with 6 pots up front from AP or Brembo. The R front Brembos are only 4 pots.

Thanks for the info.

On a side note, I have a set of 4 Brembo OE calipers(all 4 pots) for the Dodge Viper SRT-10 (all 4 corners use the same caliper).

Sad to say the mountings on the caliper line up directly above the XC90s OE knuckle mounting. The guys at my workshop mentioned that there is nothing they can do to custom fabricate mounting brackets due to the lack of space.

Now I'm considering larger rotors(maybe 14" vs OE 13.2"). This option should be available for the front but I feel it might be an issue for the rear, due to the park brake that is applied to the inside of the bells.

Anyone using larger rotors on the XC90 that can shed some light on options which i can explore?

Sorry, I was not aware that you are referring to the Brembos from the Snake; was thinking of Brembos from S60R/V70R.

Can you retrofit the parking brake from the Snake also?

Here's one with S60R rear Brembo 4 pots and 330mm rotors. Fronts are HEICO/AP 6 pots.

Porsche kit for the front 993 calipers or 996 should work perfect


Just need to have the brakets made up.

If someone has a XC90 near harrisburg PA and wouldnt mind me borrowing the car for the day ....

I can get something made up for all you guys


I have front and rear BBK 330m Wilwoods on my 98V70R
