Hello,
I was just wondering if any of you had the same problem, when i hit the brakes hard i hear this ticklening noise, and the car brakes very late, this is something that really concerns me, is it just due for brake pads, or is this some warranty problem that the dealer will fix for me? brake line or i dont know abs going bad? ..Thanks..

On a serious note..... your brakes have wear sensors. Sometimes the ticking is the pad has been wore down to that sensor and viola (tinkleing)

If you're hitting your brakes hard and hearing a "ticking" noise, it's most probably the ABS being engaged.

hmm... sounds to me like the old breakproblem discussed about a year ago. People describet it as loss of breakpower and a ticking nois. Happend when breaking on a hill going upwards in low speeds. But I can not remember what it was.

Worn pads do not delay braking.

There have been several cases of this described, and usually occurs on an uphill or downhill, moderate speed. Depress pedal, hear the ticking, takes extreme pressure to brake, almost as if no boost is present.

I know of no dealer that has been able to resolve, but by all means take it to your dealer with as accurate of a description as you can recall, and perhaps with enough reports and stored codes if any, this can at least be identified as an issue.

Does the ticking happen whenever you choose to have it happen, or does it happen at a certain part of the road you drive? There have been discussions in past threads that, perhaps, the ABS circuitry is not sufficiently shielded, and when you pass a big transformer, the ABS freaks-out for a few moments in the car.

I am one of those who had sudden lost of brake power during hot weather. The brakes didn't do anything when the pedal applied but two seconds later the ABS kicked after the pause. By the way, that only happen when the car going uphill.
