So i had posted yesterday about the noise in the brakes and people said to add the brake squeek lube to the back of the pads, on the shims. Well i did that and added a little to the pins and metal plate on top. And when i am at lowspeeds, 10mph or lower, and use little pressure, its a high pitch squeek, not a grind. What gives?

Re: Brake wont shut up (thorne)

I have the same problem, I just put new rotors and ceramic pads on and at low speed, light pressure stops I have a squeal. I have yet to figure it out!

It is a messy PITA that must be allowed to dry before re-assembly but it works.

Re: Brake wont shut up (Needsdecaf)

where do you get that stuff from. i did clean all the parts prior to install. its funny cause it only happens when they get hot, not at first start up

Re: Brake wont shut up (thorne)

Very often the squeal is caused by the metal clip being installed crooked. Just straighten it and center it CAREFULLY and your squeal will likely go away.
I swap pads every year between OEM and race pads, when I go from winter to summer tires. I also track my car and go through race pads quickly. I've never cleaned, lubed, nor greased anything. I'm just anal about getting that clip aligned PERFECTLY. No squeal at all.
