So I was just surfing around the web and now i'm curious...
Ebay, among other vendors, has slotted/drilled brake rotors for the previous generation s40. I had good experiences with drilled and slotted rotors with my Eclipse, and I was wondering if anyone put them on a new S40.
I don't see any available on Evolve, or Ebay. IPD has some slotted rotors... does anyone have experience with them on their cars? I ran a search for rotors, and results showed S60 and R threads, but no S40.

Re: brake rotors? (Dygitalpmp)

I think theres too much other things to upgrade before i could properly use better brakes than i have atm.
Drilled rotors would look better of course but in a car like this pretty useless... and what i have seen they cost like 3000$. That money could be used in suspension, traction, clutch, rims and tyres and performance mods and you will be much more happy with them.
My brakes worked nicely on track but stock pads couldnt handle the heat.
BUT if you have too much money go on and buy the big brakes
edit: and that 3000$ is also worth a full evolve body kit so the new brakes would be in the last in my list

GG agreed, I mean i love the look but holy crap the Vipers are 4350 from the whole set...you could do mass amounts on the car before that...besides IMO....the brakes are great. I dont autoX or circuit race but i about stood the car up on its nose while avoiding a late LH turning SOB in Myrtle awhile back

Re: (PornSStar)

Save your money on buying into those over-priced pieces of swiss cheese. Rotors are a wear item to me, and they are so over-hyped it makes me sick. Invest in a good set of pads (Ceramics are great) and get your brake fluid changed out. Make sure your tires are properly inflated too. These are all much cheaper and will yield much better results than those butchered rotors.
Make sure you bed your new pads/rotors when you get them and torque those lugs down with a proper torque wrench!
