Brake Rotors

Nice. <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://********************/smile/emthup.gif" BORDER="0"><p>Did ViVA just add these? I looked through his site about a month ago and I didn't see them. I ended up going with IPD's rotors. Oh well, looks like I might have to upgrade a little earlier then I expected to.

DRT just purchases the Volvo OEM bremos and do the machining in house. I purchased a set of front cross drilled from them a while back. No performance issues to speak of but I did notice that 1 of the drilled rows (11 rows total) was not evenly spaced (32.72 deg) around the circumference. When I asked they said it was due to the location of the cooling vanes so one of the rows had to be machined offset. To account for the imbalance they machined a slot on the outer circumference of the rotor. Looks a bit funny but no performance issues.

Where are the Viva ones from and how much do they weigh? Seems to be pretty competitive pricing for 1 piece.

Has anyone used Evolve two piece rotors? I know they are a bit pricey and look nice.

Evolve rear rotors still uses alluminum hats (constant ebrake use will wear them down faster) if you do not mind having to replace them every two to three years then yes they work fine. That is provided you never use the ebrake unless of course you have to for inspection or dealers do, that dont remember to not use it.

These look nice except the black hat. Black rotor hats with pegs just looks weird. I wonder how much it is to special order the silver.

Our rotors are manufactured using the same R rotor castings from Brembo, so the quality and weight of the rotors are identical to the OEM Volvo rotors, and at a lower price! <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://********************/smile/emthup.gif" BORDER="0">
