It might be better than Ford, who has no money at all to spend on R&D to make Volvo actually compete with the big three.

Look at what Tata has done for Jaguar.

Yeah, I mean, a chinese company that has money, doesn't have much to lose like Ford does, so they could make an E92 M competitor.

Duly noted. I just don't like the idea of China owning any more of anything than they already do.

Agreed. This is particularly concerning considering the country's record on human rights.

I'm gonna be pissed when I put a Volvo OEM part on my car and it's stamped "Made In China"

One of the cool factors w/ this car is the European post cards on every part - france, germany, etc...

Haha, yeah, I'd be pretty pissed to. It might be financially right for Volvo, but the side affects are not desirable, and sometimes more important. I understand Volvo is a company who wants to make money. We'll see, the article said they just want to go "window shopping". Hopefully one day, a european company will buy Volvo. Why did Volvo AB sell Volvo Cars in the first place anyway?

There are at least a handful of parts on my '05 S60 that are stamped "Ford."

I actually have a new-found respect for Ford since they were the only one of the big three...not seeking bail-out funds and declaring bankruptcy, and they're also making a Fusion great hybrid.

I've already had to replace a few light bulbs on my Volvo that were made in China!
