Agreed, either buy butyl seam sealer (also known as dum-dum) or they now sell foam joint tape that works pretty well. See my 122 thread for details on both if you're curious.

thank you for this information. i should have worded my question differently though: off of which amazons can i harvest ft fenders and a hood? i think there might be a two-door 67 out there.
i will make sure i get all new "seals" in there.
lloyddobler, that thread on your 122 is amazing. even a little intimidating. seriously, it made for some real good reading.

Don't be too intimidated, I'm taking my sweet time. I started the thread 3 years ago. I'm old and patient.

I believe the fenders and hood from all generations are universal, if anything there are small differences in the grilles, like '66 and newer have a grille mounting tab that the older ones don't.

The front fenders and hood are the same from 1956 to 1971.

Some theatres had front fender side-marker lights (holes) beginning 1968.

The opening for the front parking lights changed slightly over the years.
