I am getting ready to order my new S60 and want to get the bluetooth kit. My question is, will the dealer mount it wherever I want them too? I have seen mountings on this board where people put them on the bottom of the dashboard in the middle, to the right of the key lock and headrest drop buttons. (must be a hold cut in the plastic). This is my preference, will the dealer do this? Should I just do it aftermarket myself? They have agreed to give me free bluttooth as part of the deal, so I would like to go through them.

Re: Bluetooth (jonecasey)

I did it myself but it is very simple. I am sure the dealer would do it if you asked. See http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=50628 for a picture of mine.

Jonecasey,
My kit was installed by the dealership before I could specify location.
Yes, it is in the 'normal' position and thus blocked by the steering wheel. However, they attached it with double-sided tape.
So, today I will pry it off and move it up and over 3 inches to the right. In that location, it will be between the air vent and cubby-hole. Perfect for visibility.
To me, it appears the button would be a bit of a pain to push in the lower position being hidden by the shifter...but who knows???
BTW, the kit is awesome!

Mark the tape "Put Controller Here". Why? My dealer placed the controller behind the wheel where it was hidden. I then unstuck the controller from the dash and moved it above and to the right of the cubbyhole, below the vents. Now the controller cord was draped across the top of the cubbyhole. Looked pretty bad. No way I could move that wire myself. It was pinched tight by the surrounding trim. I had to go back to the dealer, and they had to remove the trim and pull the radio out again just to move the wire. The technician was not happy about having to do that - he said it was a lot of labor. But they did it for me, no charge. Thats why I recommend marking with tape.

I now have it mounted above the left corner of the cubby-hole, below the vent.
I can see everything from that angle!
The cord does not go across the cubbyhole. It goes right across the corner though.
It is a GREAT feature though with a manual tranny.
