Hey guys,<p>Goes anyone have any experience with the aftermarket bluetooth adaptor that Volvo sells? I'm wondering if people have had good experiences with it, and if so, how much the adaptor generally costs to buy and install (at the dealer) on the R. Any info you can provide would be great ...<p>Thanks!

I am not sure about the specific one you're referencing, but i bought my R with the bluetooth package and it doesn't work with my phone. i am not sure if its the phone or the car i never tried a second phone. what it does is automatically tries to pair without me entering the code so it fails instantly every now and then it will work but disconnects after about 10 minutes. it might just be my phone its the industrial tank phone not one of the fancy ones.

My Motorola works great. Syncs with both my Iphone and Blackberry. But only one at a time. If I want to switch, I hit the center button, Say "Setup" and then Say "select phone 1" or 2. As far as not working with your phone Rally, have you reset the system? if you bought it used, it is still trying to pair with the old phone... You would also need to clear out the old address book. Just a thought. Marc

Hmm i am not sure, the lady comes on and says "Put your phone in scan mode and press 1,2,3,4 for the pass code" i sync then and never get a prompt for the pass code. how would i go about resetting it?

As others have pointed out, it is a Motorola IHF1000, with some moderate integration into the Volvo audio system.<p>It does mute entertainment audio with an incoming call.<p>It makes use of the existing car speakers, so nothing else is added.<p>It does NOT tie into any visual display, DIM or head unit, for incoming call data.<p>It does NOT tie into factory navigation for any form of incoming call display.<p>It does NOT take any factory navigation POI phone numbers and autodial.<p>Left to the dealer to do, the controller unit will just be surface mounted on your dash someplace. (looks a little out of place) You may want to discuss this with them, or perhaps see others they have done.

I do not like it. It links fine and works with my phone but... the mic sucks and everyone says i sound mumbled. the call volume is independent of the stereo volume. if your phone drops its service or switches out of digital, the adaptor will turn off you stereo. I listen to my stereo louder than most so the abrupt cut out is very annoying. If you still want one I will sell u mine.

Sounds like yours has issues.. Mine was dealer installed. the volume is controlled by the up and down controls on the right of the unit. I have been told the sound quality is great. I have never had my Stereo shut off. Yes it does cut out when a call comes in, but that is that. My dealer installed unit has worked flawlessly since day one; 3 year 4 months. <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://********************/smile/emthup.gif" BORDER="0"> <br>Many, not all, had told me that I did not sound clear with my old BB. Those I talk to often say I sound very clear now, a noticable change, with my new BB Curve.<br>Scott

omg that install guide is crazy, i retract my offer to sell it. i did just get a new phone, ill have to try it again and hope for improved performance.

I have it. Dealer installed. Worked okay with my old Palm Treo, works great with the iPhone. No one complains about the audio quality or anything.

I installed it on my R and my wife's XC90, both work great with the iPhone. I wish you could listen to the voice mails over the bluetooth but for some reason I can't. Anyone else have this issue?

I have had mine for a long time now, considering I also had an IHF-1000 in my other car before I sold the car and got the MDX. <p>I have liked this system a lot but lately have had issues with my voice breaking up over the mic (going to hands-on solves the issue). I will have to check my microphone. However, I wonder if it is an issue with this particular BB?<p>
