===========================================

The Fall Mountain Drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway, not withstanding blocked roads through the National Park, is scheduled to for this Saturday, October 19th...

I need to know by tomorrow (OCt 16th) whether you'll be participating..

Check website for details.. www.blueridgevolvonc.org

It is time for the Club's annual (some might say biannual) fall foliage
tour along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Saturday October 19th 2013.

Hunter Volvo has graciously offered to serve as our rallying point. Members will rally at Hunter
Volvo (252 Patton Ave; Asheville, NC) between 9 am and 10 am. While mustering at
Hunter Volvo we'll enjoy coffee and pastries and car talk. Vintage and unusual
Volvos (convertibles) will be prominently featured.

Around 10:30 AM, we'll caravan to the Blue Ridge Parkway (BRP) and make our way to Little Switzerland for lunch. (The food is excellent and is complimented only by the view.)

Following a satisfying repast, the journey along the BRP will resume and
terminate in Boone at the Mast General Store. Here members can peruse camping
and hiking gear. [Personally, this summer I hiked to 5200' on the Pacific Trail
Crest (Washington) and through Glacier National Park (Montana) just to avoid the
hot NC summer.]

Once in Boone, we'll decide where to dine and or depart for our
respective homes. Some of us may decide to linger and meander to Blowing Rock to
view the sun set, perhaps not if it is
cloudy.
