Man, me and my sh*tty ass luck.
Shortly after seeing pafox's thread and leaving work to go home on a different route (why or why did I do that), I freaking hit a pot hole about 5 inches deep and 12 inches wide. I tried to avoid it w/o hitting the other cars in the lanes next to me but my right side took an unbearable hit. I am now car-less (I limped it to a Sears Auto Shop), 2 tires blown, and god knows what else is damaged. I won't know if I will have 2 bent rims or not, hell if I'm really unlucky I might even have 2 busted shocks.... gahhh.
Anyway, anyone know what price one should expect to pay? I am planning on getting 4 new tires to replace all four Pirellis, the guy quoted me $1,182 something for replacing, balancing, and 4 wheel allignment. The tires quoted were 235/18/40 Good Year Eagle F1s, the cheaper choice out of 2 that is available to me within a day. That seems a little steep no?
I just checked on tirerack also and found the Avon Tech M550 A/S which I really like. Do any of you know if they do same day or next day delivery? (I will also call in the morning)
Can anyone shed some light on the Sear's quote for 4 tires, balance, mount and allignment? Being that it's almost midnight I can't exactly call around to get the best pricing. Plus time is not really on my side here either. May even have to call in "sick" tomorrow to work.... God I hate NY roads.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Blown 2 tires, maybe 2 bent rims, need some information on replacements (HJZ)

For where you are, TR can usually get the tires delivered in about two business days max. Their warehouse is in DE.
I wouldn't consider Sears as my first choice to do this sort of work on an R.
I like the Michelin PS A/S very much, but they are expensive.
I have a NEW set of 18' PZeros (with warranty card) I'll sell you at a great price if you IM me. I'm not that far away.
Whatever you get, be sure to get road hazard coverage this time. You really should have had full wheel/tire coverage from day one, especially with 18s, but hindsight is always 20/20.

Check out Tirerack's website so you can compare. Add on $100 for mounting, balancing, and another $100 for alignment.
I have priced out tires from Sears in the past for other cars and they have been high.

sgmlaw: thanks for the offer on the tires. I actually just spoke with tirerack and they are sending me a set over night for the Avon Tech 550 A/S. Fair price even with the overnight. Sure is better than the close to $1,200 Sears quoted me. I only took it to Sears for convenience. I will be there to watch everything they do tomorrow. I hope they don't mess anything up.
Wayne: yeah some how they wanted to charge me $281 for labor. alone.. hmm.
zigger: I am definitely going to try the city. It doesn't hurt to do so. Although I'm smacking myself now for not making a police report. I was pissed and wasn't thinking... I hope I can somehow make a case out of this.
Overall damage: for sure I have 1 punctured tire, 1 tire with a bubble the size of my fist. I am going to check the rim when they pull off the tires (praying for no damage). On Saturday I am going to have my mechanic check out the shocks. I wonder where all the revenues for the town is going to. It certainly isn't to repair the freaking roads.
For sh*ts and giggles: When I went this morning to Sears to assess my situation, I found out the quote they gave me yesterday which was for 4 Eagle F1s at $192 per tire is no longer good. Today the other manager told me they don't have those tires and it's going to take 4-5 days to get them in. But, he could get me a set of Michelin PS2s for $250 per tire in 2 days... When I told him I didn't want to buy those because of price and preference, he told me that it's not even the most expensive choice. He then scrolled up on the screen and the first on the list is, Pirelli, at $537 per tire.
Anyway, thanks again for reading and offering suggestions.

Dude WTF!
Problem now is...are you mounting those new tires on your potentially bent rims?
So, is TR sending the tires to Sears?
Repair wise...Wheels America, Central Ave off Wellwood, right across from the cemetery, small sign on Central ave. Right now I have my original set being fixed there.
Then the issue is you can only get one done at a time...and you'll have to take off and remount and rebalance the tires...
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=...hl=en
p.s. I live near there so drop me a line if you need a lift....

Yes, what about the wheels?
You might want to have a dealer parts department on standby if you need a couple pegs, or those Sears guys might try to sell you a set of Crager S/Ses. I'll bet you'll need a new DieHard soon.
So, you got hazard coverage on the Avons?

Re: (pafox)

I am going to check that out tomorrow. I won't tell them to mount the tires just yet. I will check the rims myself for damages (again, praying for none)when they take them off. And if it is damaged, then I guess my bad luck will continue. (praying again). I already spoke with the store manager to call me when the tires get in and I will go there to check it out.
Btw, thanks a whole bunch on the offer for a lift. It's good to know there's someone around to lend a helping hand.
sgmlaw: yeah I believe I got the road hazard program, but I'm going to call to confirm. It's all like a blur. Well I could use a new battery.... (no no I'm just kidding:))
