Well I have teased with pictures of the wheels long enough, here is the finished product on the car.
BTW. These are my track wheels. Sorry for any confusion.

At the shop:

All in all I am very happy, only one scuff that I can see which I will touch up after it stops raining.

Great effort! Myself I'm not a black wheel guy but I'm sure I'm in the minority!
I can't get past all of these cars with black wheels while I think to myself "those look like they sprayed rustoleum on em."

If you decide to keep them black I would look into powdercoating them... I think the black on black looks superb myself, but the paintjob itself seems to be second rate.

I agree with the "too flat" comments. You need to wet-sand and rub them out. Then a couple coats of wax and you're done.
(Get some shiney on those tires while you're at it ...)

EDIT: A slick clearcoat wouldn't hurt either.

it's an interesting look. the only thing i don't lke about it, is that it makes the wheels look "dirty" ....as they are too close in color to the tires. but from a distance, it gives the car a neat monochromatic look.
I almost think that if you really want to complete "the look" you need to tint the tail lights, and paint the calipers black or something. maybe look into smoking the headlight covers? it all depends what look you're going for.
i briefly considered painting my wheels, and smoking my headlights...and going down that "path" to a monochromatic look..but passed on it. I decided for the cost...it wasn't worth it. it would look different but i didn't think it would look better..at least not to me. I kind of like the silver wheels given the car has such prominent silver headlights. from the front angles...the headlights and silver pegs go nicely together.
but the all black look is cool. it just depends on what you want.

Not my cup'o-tea but you'll never have to worry about break dust any more ...actually, that might be nice for 17" pegs for the winter! Misconceptions

Let me try and clear up some misconceptions. These are my track wheels! I was going for a mean/batman sort of a look. I would have powder coated them but that would defeat the purpose of them being track wheels.
I appreciate all of the comments and everyone is entitled to their opinion.

My mom always said "STFU if you don't have anything nice to say". But as they are your track wheels, I think you acheived that mean Robo Cop Police cruiser wheel look. You really need some tire shine, but other than that, it looks hotter than hotness itself.

For track-only wheels and tires they are great. If the wheels gets scratched, big deal, repaint, ect . . .
I like the 245/40-18 Falken RT-615s. You should eat up some fast cats Saturday at the track!
