Has anyone painted the silver grille surround black? Also the volvo cross band and emblem surround? I'm thinking of doing this, going stealth, and getting away from the slightly cheap looking silver.

Re: (Elmoworld)

Sniz had his grill painted black. Hopefully someone can post a thread with the pics. It looked real nice along with his aftermarket FMIC

wow; looks a lot better than i though on a black car.
i should do that -- possibly flat, possibly color-match...possibly gloss...i can't decide!
how difficult is it to remove the grill and surround from the bumper? does it require removal of the entire front bumper?

Re: Black out grille (Cicada)

I would suggest sanding, spraying primer (I did two coats) then the color (don't need anything special there) and then clear coat it. Thats what I did with my grill and it holds up just great, and mine's a tougher job because it was chrome.

well i decided i'd do this, so i removed the grille, and zoomed over to pep boys, sans grill, to get some paint and clear coat. ill post pics when it's finished. right now the primer has gone down, wiating about an hour for a second coat, then on to paint
