Hey guys. I'm going to take a bunch of photos downtown this weekend with my new Canon Rebel and was wondering how to get those nice black frames around my pictures. Thanks.

Re: Black frame around high quality pictures. (greencow)

Well, either I guess. But I'm pretty sure it's the vignette. For example, that picture of your "alternate" ride greencow. You post it occasionally.

Re: Black frame around high quality pictures. (Revolve40)

There's a slight vignetting in that, plus it was shot with bracketed exposure so I could composite it into a hdr image, which gives it the high contrast.

Easiest way to get a vignette is to just do it in post. Add it with photoshop. Some dslr camera's will still give you a "traditional" vignetting when used with certain lenses, but most digital cameras have software/hardware to combat it.

look up some photoshop tutorials and learn how you can batch frame/vignette/watermark your images saves so much time!

I would also highly recommend lightroom 2 to perfect your pictures and it also has vignetting
