i was wondering if the black sticker below the rear window of the 98 v70 XC's can be simply pealed off?? it looks like its just a black sticker that has cross country writen on it in silver, but i want to make sure before i start riping off something that cant be fixed on my moms car : P please help!! i hate that sticker an wana get rid of it soo bad!

It's just a...sticker! It won't come off very easily but if you are patient it will come off without damaging the paint.

I haven't looked at it, but it's probably vinyl. If that's the case, I'd imagine it's like removing pinstripes. A Heat Gun helps soften the glue and make it come up easily.

There's a lemon scented solution you can buy at the hardware store (forget the name, but if you name it I'll know)that helps remove adhesive. You'll want to test it on a non-viewable area of the paint to make sure it does no damage, but I've used it on my car for such reasons several times. That'll help get rid of any residual adhesive.

If you can't get a heat gun near your car, you can also wait for a nice hot day and let it bake in the sun for a while and peel away. I took off the black vinyl stickers on the rear doors of my 98 V70R pretty easily after it had been sitting in the sun. I'm sure the sticker on the back of the XC is probably the same material.
