I thought to share this with you folks after much success with removing bird droppings that were on my paint when I returned to the train station after work.
This has worked for me numerous times now. Many times in years past I would take a wet sponge to the dried ---- and end up damaging the paint while removing it. So here it is - wet the crap, then take a folded piece of paper towel (Bounty) and place it on it and then pour water over the paper. Lots of water and then leave the paper towel on it for about 20 minutes. Return and remove the paper towel. Basically the wet towel absorbs much of the crap and what is left is softened enough to wipe off. This has worked every time for me. No marks left in the paint.
Re: Bird Droppings (JRL)

Never had the bird droppings problem. Now if you're in a parking ramp where the masonry is old, and the rain erodes the cement between the joints, thus depositing it on your dark green 960... well, imagine dropping wet cement on your finish. you get the idea.

Keep a bottle of Griot's Garage Speed Shine or Zaino detail spray in the car with a microfiber cloth.

Water is the key. The best is to make a swimming pool with painters tape and fill it with water
Water is the most soluble- I think that is the word. It is like a solvent against the crap of the bird
I would never use anything but water. Detailer and others are not as much of a solvent as water
it is natures bird dung solution

Re: Bird Droppings (I Roll)

Meguiar's Cleaner Wax or Mirror Glaze #80 with a foam pad applicator or DA buffer (w/rough foam pad) will remove bird poop.

I had some devil bird crap on my car, it was on for maybe 4 hours before I noticed it, was ever so careful removing it, and my paint looks like GARBAGE where it was. It's all pitted and etched. I've tried rubbing it out with polish, wax, everything, and it still looks awful. Right on my passenger side fender too. I'm guessing seagull or monster pigeon. Whoever it was must have just finished guzzling some hydrochloric acid. Anyone know what to do?

Re: Bird Droppings (jclough)

was it african or european?
WHAT?!
The swallow, was it african or european?
CLASSIC MOVIE!!
i use the tons of water and an old pair of undies to carefully LIFT the poop once it's soaked. More water, maybe a touch of car wash soap on a soaked cloth and it's gone.
However, it also depends on the quality of wax on the car prior to said defacation.
