http://forums.swedespeed.com/showthread.php?178615-Will-VIDA-DICE-work-on-MacBook-Pro

Check this old thread about the same question being asked, i simply typed vida/dice on MacBook pro in google and came up with lots of informations.

You cannot run vida/dice directly on the MacBook firmware, you need to host windows 7 pro or XP pro tru a virtualization program like VMware in order to make vida run.

The best is to buy an old laptop and install windows 7 pro/ultimate or windows XP on it and use it only when you need to scan the car.

I will second everything haunt said.

I bought an old Dell Inspirion laptop for 100 bucks on eBay, along with the DICE/VIDA that's on eBay for $150 or so.

He will still need a laptop with Windows on it though.
Nope. That guy's setup runs Windows in VMWare.

"Pre-installed VIDA runs on any system win xp/vista/7/8/10, MAC OS 32/64bit."

What year MacBook Pro? I have an older one, I think it's 2012, I use VirtualBox and XP Pro as a virtual machine. I hear some of the newer models don't have USB support for VirtualBox, but mine works like a charm.

I use VMware because virtual box doesn't support usb3. However, you will lose 30gb of space... Just like with a bootcamp install.

I'm running parallels on my macbook, I've managed to install, but don't have the hardware yet (longest 10 days of my life...). I'll let you know if I have any struggles.

Oh, I misunderstood your first post. So you DO have to have VMWare though? You're just saying that this guy gives you everything you need to install and all the instructions so it's easy?

VMWare is the route I took, why need some ****ty old PC to run it when you can just run it on any old new hardware you already have?
I just leave my sh*tty VIDA laptop in my shop and it gets beat around and falls off my lap as I'm code reading. Rather not use my MacBook Air for that. ;)
