I need to do brakes on my R which I just bought and I was curious if anyone's bought aftermarket pads for it. I called FCP and they say they only have the factory ones.
Which ones out there have the least amount of brake dust visible? Some ceramics are worse than metallic from what I know on my C70...
Brands and websites you bought from would help. Thanks!

I too would love to know this, as my pads are getting to the point where replacement is on my mind.

I have had good luck with Buybrakes .com.
I like the Rotex Gold (virtually no dust once they are broken in)and Great Price $53 for fronts
or EBC Redstuff Pads slightly more dust in my experience but stop Great.

2 comments about that, its really interesting that those brakes are so cheap, I wonder how well they are made, and secondly I'm shocked to see the list of comprable applications:
2004/07 Cadillac CTS V Series - Front
2006/07 Cadillac Seville (Brembo Calipers) - Front
2006/07 Cadillac STS & STS-V (w/Brembo Brakes) - Front
2005/06 Ford GT - Rear
2005/06 Ford GT - Front
2003/06 Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VIII, MR & RS - Front
2004/07 Subaru Impreza WRX STI - Front
2005/07 Volvo S40 (w/Brembo Calpiers) - Front
2004/07 Volvo S60 Type R - Front
Thats quite an informative site. WOW you guys, there was just a thread on this last week.
http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=118687
I bought the RAYBESTOS Pads (OEM style) for front and rear, for only $89 shipped. Most everyone will tell you to go OEM. For these brakes the OEM pads are as good, if not better, than most aftermarket pad.

I get mine from http://zeckhausen.com/Volvo/V70R.htm . Although I use mostly track pads he sells some less expensive pads. My street pads are hawk HPS and they work great.

Re: Best Front R Brakes, which route did you go? (sdigital)

I track my car about twice a year. About a year or two ago I (as everything else) researched new pads "to death." After hours of reading posts and websites selling pads and performance Volvo parts, I concluded the stock pads are the best for both street and track use. For something strictly track, there may be better options, but the pads are one thing Volvo got really right on this car IMHO.
The stock pads crack and fade within a couple laps on track.

Stock pads are pretty good on track, but the Ferodo DS2500 from Zeckhausen are FAR BETTER. I run them all summer. I only switch back to OEM pads when I put on the Blizzaks for winter.

Re: Best Front R Brakes, which route did you go? (Warpedcow)

I just had all of mine replaced last week. I bought the front rotors from IPD $68 each which is a great price and the rears looked fine so I opted not to change. I went with PBR Deluxe up front and Minitiex in the rear. So far the the brakes feel fine, actually a bit better than stock. I can't comment on brake dust as I have satin black pegasus rims. I'll check that out in the fall with my winter sneakers. Check with the guys at FCP Groton they that's where I bought the pads and they've always been extremely helpful and more importantly they have great prices. Good Luck Oh yeh I have a 2005 S60R and FCP does carry other manufacturers ask for Kyle and tell him that you want the setup you sent Gerry.
