I just finished painting my brakes black with the G2 paint kit with great results. However, I'd like to add a little extra shine and protection. I was thinking the Duplicolor high heat high gloss spray would be a good option but I want a really even, smooth finish. Thoughts?

Re: Best Clear Coat for Brakes? (Revolve40)

I used the Duplicolor High Heat clear and it came out looking very nice and glossy. It did take a while though. I did about 6-7 coats with a hair dryer on low in between coats, but it came out really shiny, more so than I thought it would.

Pics of both your guys' brakes or ban. <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/wink.gif" BORDER="0"> I just used some clear coat I had from a previous project and it worked great. It wasn't expensive, just some regular brand from walmart or somewhere like that. My brakes need some touching up due to negligence on the part of my wheel install guys.

Re: (Vash13)

Pictures soon. I'm very impressed with the quality of this G2 paint vs. the last kit I used. The finish on these feels rubbery like brembo's or something.
