Just had my clutch replaced. 75,000 miles on my '04 V70 R. $2,300.00. Yikes. They said that knowing how anal I was about my R, it was recommended that I replace the two piece dual density something flywheel at the same time. Job is done, car is back to its great self. So when you are dumping your clutch at 4,500 or higher rpms, be warned that it is not a $750 clutch you are smoking. oclv

Re: Be kind to your clutch (oclv)

sounds a bit high, but not by much. I got a new clutch installed when my tranny was replaced under warranty for about $800. the clutch was ok, but it would have cost much more to replace later as the whole tranny has to be dropped for the operation.
I thought the clutch was a fairly self contained unit however, didn't know that the flywheel was a seperate item.

I guess I'll put the money aside. It's actually pretty cheap considering it's for a high dollar performance sadan.
Any high performance clutches out there? I did a search I google and turned up empty.
