Our car is a 2018 V90 T6.

Somewhere I read, assumedly on one of these subforums, that battery replacement in the new-generation cars is not a simple matter of popping over to AutoZone, buying a new one and R&Ring it, as we've been doing for at least the last 50 years. The implication was that there was something electronic or software-related that had to be reset, and that the reset could only be done by a dealer (or a knowledgeable Vida user). If this reset was not performed, battery life suffered.

Is this true, or did I misunderstand something?
