bang for the buck CAI???

2002 s60 2.4T AWD - what's the cheapest and highest CAI? and is there any difference besides sound? HP gains? "Healthier" for your car?

I am looking at EST for the sound, but I like the look of the SIMOTA. How is the BSR and does anyone know of one made by....FUJITA? also. do 2002 s60 CAI work universally? meaning. are the engine bays all set up the same for 2.4t's?

All 2.4ts are the same

All will give some gains but they are negligible.
I prefer the set up of the EST but they are all pretty decent.
If you look at the physics of it, EST is probably the most free flowing and WON'T take in hot air when you are moving, no matter what you are told.
If you go with the EST i recommend removing the weather stripping at the rear of the hood.

Also EST is a forum sponsor and a pleasure to deal with.
Re: (Bender)

True.
They should come with a rubber lining for the top part that seals the intake to the top of the hood when shut. At least mine did, so when i touch the filter after driving its always cool.
also remember the physics behind it - warm air rises - the highest part of the hood is the farthest point from the intake...

calling Sebastian(volvos60t5x), could you answer this one for us about your intake?
Re: (Turbos60)

Just installed my EST intake today. Pretty straight forward. FYI the screws on the MAF to the airbox are TORX screws NOT phillips or flat head!

Mine did not come with an upper rubber to seal up against the hood :-/. Even after a 20ish minute test drive the heat shield was warm but the filter still felt cool.

You can def hear that baby sucking in air and the recirc dumping back into the intake. It seems to not drone or be loud while cruising, a def plus. But once you get on it you hear that baby suck! http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

No CELs or issues so far on my couple trips today *knock on wood*

I didn't reset power on mine after install, ie unplugging battery. Anyone really suggest this? I know a lot of people say yes and others say no.

No need for it.
