It is the rain/water droplets. I have had this exact thing happening on my V70R also backing out in the rain (or after a rain). Apparently this happens when there is/are water droplets right in front of the sensor/s. Put a good coat of wax on the bumper surface (especially those sensors painted surface) so that water droplets will not stick to the vertical surface.
