So I've got the axle ping, now that I think about it the car has ALWAYS made the ticking noise at the front when shifting - not every shift mind you, but enough to notice. My car has 3300 miles on it. Do I need to address this pronto or can it wait until the first service? What are the chances of having the XC90 axle ping fix applied to the R? http://www.alldata.com/tsb/Vol....html I think it was Xenophobic who had this fix done to his R and has not had an issue since.

Well I've had it ever since I've had the car and now I'm at 26,000 miles. I can't say my clutch or gearbox has gotten any worse over time so you can probably wait.

It can wait until the next service. I lived with it initially for a few months, a few months more after it didn't work, many months after the reglue and axle hub replacement. However, it's been quiet for the last three months since the axle bolts were replaced with XC90 bolts.

Nikhsub1,
Yeah that is me who fixed the problem with that xc90 part.
The dealer made it and I am very pleased with it.
The dealer made it and I trusted them. Now I see that I made a true decision.
It is a very cheap way,you can try it.
IMO:There are no way to give a damage or something else,as you will see the part has a rubber part to prevent the noise.
