First, does the new V70 AWD have the same mechanical system as the XC or the Haldex system in the S60? Which system is better in terms of reliability? Second, my dealer states that Volvo does not recommend putting on 17" wheels on the AWD due to the road conditions in Montreal and AWD system. Has anybody heard this before?

I'm awaiting delivery of a V70 T5 from Uptown Volvo. I'm getting the 17" wheels on my car and was not told of any issues, except the usual troubles of low profile tires and pot holes...
From my research of Volvos in general, I believe the V70 AWD's ordered now come with the Haldex system, but I'm not sure. As a note, the V70 AWD that is shown in the V70 brochure is shown with 17" alloys. Seems strange if you're not supposed to mix that and the AWD???
Hope this helps.
