We had our first autocross a 2 day event at Storyland in NH. I don't understand why people put the R down so much....it isn't the greatest car to autocross especially on a tight course but, it is one fun car in "Advanced" mode and DTSC turned completely off. The course was a fairly fast course that I drove mostly in 2nd gear. I was amazed by how comfortable, poised the R was driving at the car's (or should I say my) limits even on lousy Toyo Versado LX all-seasons (didn't have a chance to buy summer tires). Some friends who watched as well as rode along commented on how fast, poised the car looked. I was surprised at how flat the car cornered with vey little lean. It didn't miss a beat. The weather was hot; Saturday got up to mid-eighties but I didn't notice any noticeable decrease in power. Later a friend with his MKV GTi and I ran the Kangamangus which was a blast. Amazing starting in Conway the temperature was mid-eighties and by the time we reached the highest point on the Kank, elevation 2850 feet or so, the temperature dropped nearly 30 degrees to 58 degrees.
