There were only two or three SR owners at the last GTG which was held at Beasley Volvo Georgetown, March 2006. I was still living in San Antonio, and there were two VR owners (mine and Speedemon) - one SR from SA.

I'm sure some of the guys from San Antonio will chime in...

Anyone ever been to this Houston meet up? http://forum.texasvolvocrew.com/topic/7117219/1/

I went to one VCNA event and met these guys - good group - had fun riding gokarts (the high speed ones) after the GTG. They do most of their own work (share a shop) and usually meet once a month on Friday night. Contact John on the website, or I can IM his phone number. As you can see from the pics, they are P1 R owners but surely don't mind company.

Re: Austin area R owners... (KillerB)

My mistake on the date - it was March 2007. Speedemon, Copeland, Trey Herman, and I drove up together from San Antonio. Slowrey was there with his second SR - his accident occurred shortly after.

The GTG in 2006 must have been fun. We were hoping for the same in '07 - much smaller but fun anyway. Speedemon and I drove the back roads on the way back and had a blast.

Thanks for correcting me.

There's lots of R's here in Austin, but the "community" is pretty small. I've noticed that some C30 owners are starting to come together, which is nice.

Looks like there's a GTG coming up in March in NW San Antonio (I think it's on the TX volvo crew website). There should be a few R's on hand... haven't decided yet if I'll be able to make it.

What part of Austin are you in, mehran05? I'm mainly always out in the NW area (by the lake), with the exception of being on campus during the day.

I'll be there for most of it. More info: http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=108152

I'm trying to figure out who owns my twin. (He has a TX plate, I have a FL plate) I've seen him a couple of times now down south around the 360/Mopac/290 area.

I've also seen a Sonic Blue S60R a few times that lives down south too (somewhere off of Slaughter I think). That was the first one in that color I've seen in real life. Makes me want one.

When I lived over in Barton Creek I saw a number of Rs. One Black V70R down the street from me, but didn't seem like an enthusiast.

No FMIC yet...but it's on my to do list.

IPD Stage II ECU with torque delete
IPD Downpipe
IPD Exhaust
Aquamist Alcohol/Water injection
IPD Track spec sway bars
QBM end links
QBM lower transmission mount
QBM strut brace brackets
KVR brake rotors (slotted two-piece front, slotted rear)
Stainless Steal brake lines
Titanium brake shims

And I have a VCT2000

All self installed… Probably forgetting something…

VolvoLT, I am also up North, off of Parmer and Mopac area and at UT during the day. I work for the ITS dept. there. I have a TI R w/ Atacama interior....I did see a R on campus parked by Jester Hall one day.....could that be you?

Nope, I don't park on campus (ride the shuttle in from the arboretum). I used to see a V70R TI on 21st all the time, usually over by Jester.

No FMIC yet here. I've only had the R for a few months and haven't really done much other than the CAI and a few little things here and there. IPD track sways are the next big thing on my list.

A few more fun roads in Austin:

Drove that one in '07 and agree - it will keep you busy. Put on some good music, driving gloves, and total concentration!

Re: Austin area R owners... (mehran05)

I live in San Antonio and drive a 2004 V70R. I'm planning to attend the Volvo gathering here in town next month (13-15 Mar). Hoping to meet a few other R owners at that time...
