I didn't think the 850 Turbo was a 6.1-second car, and 147+MPH seems fast by any standards.<BR>I recently purchased a 1996 854 R, and have been trying to research performance specs lately in an attempt at guaging where my car stands in relation to it's competitors. I'm assuming that if an 855 T5-R, being 150+ lbs heavier can scoot to 60 in 6.7, my 4-door could do a little bit better, being motivated by the same motor. But I can't see my R, love it as much as I do, being able to break 6.1 seconds 0-60. <BR>Has anyone come across any credible, verified acceleration results for the automatic 96/97 854 R vehicles?<P>

Hey 854RNJ,<BR>I know what you're talking about,<BR>they made an error, the turbo sedan ran 0-60 in 7.1 and the t-5R and R sedans ran (and still run it) in anywhere between 6.65 and 6.78, depending on the miles/ care etc.<BR>My 95 T-5R totally stock runs it in 6.687 about <IMG SRC="http://www.swedespeed.com/ubb/smile.gif"><BR>so you should be right around there since our cars are almost twins.<P>David<BR>1995 Volvo 850 T-5R Sedan<BR>1973 Volvo P1800ES

I don't know about those numbers, they seem a little low for the T5 and T5-R models. I have a 96 T-5, and it is 0 to 60 in Economy in about 6.8. In Sport, it can push about 6.2... if you get lucky. I always try to remember that this car is a Turbo model, so you will never get really consistent numbers, because this car is different almost every time off the line. This car was dynoed about 2 weeks ago, all I have is a PES chip, and stock it is 222, I got it at 280.. they claimed it would add 40 hp, I got 58. I'm not complaining!! Of course, my car is an automatic... so my numbers could be a little off. The Sport and Economy modes do make a difference.<P>
