Are you talking about the arm rests on the outside or the one in the middle?

It is a much better design then the earlier ones. Wouldn't mind changing mine out as well.

Re: (x-omatic)

Would that include the wannabe cup holders? Those things piss me off. I had to buy the rubber inserts to get them to hold some drinks, but certain size drinks (think large at Panda Express) don't fit in those so I have to remove them.
I am interested in this too, if it is the middle.

The entire center console is one piece from the front behind the waterfall to the back at the 12v outlet for the rear passengers. I just had mine out yesterday for a project to be revealed later, and its super easy to take out, however the e-brake is different on the 08+ and Im not sure the 08 center would fit over ours. If anyone has an 08, could you take some detailed pictures? I should be able to tell if it will fit or not.

It appears that our e-brake would be right where the little cell phone cubby is

I am driving a loaner right now and it is a 2008 S40. From looking at it first hand, the e-brake and the 12 volt plug are in different locations. I suppose the 12 volt will be easy to move but the e-brake is a different story...

Re: (sanatarium)

It looks like everything else lines up pretty much the same though...maybe all a person would have to do is custom fab that left side, removing the cell phone cubby spot to make room for our e-brake.
However, is the little storage arm rest a smaller size on the inside for the newer style or is it the fact that our 'lid' is just made bigger but the interior of the cubby is the same size?
