After knocking my head year after year with these wipers squeaking and chattering across the windshield with no obvious fix in sight, I think I came upon the answer!<br>Naturally I did all the usual things, replace the blades (with several different types) adjusted the blade angle properly, still no good <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vortexmediagroup.com/images/banghead.gif" BORDER="0"> The other day someone suggested that I clay the windshield <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/eek.gif" BORDER="0"> <br>These windshields that are now all becoming old and pitted are havens for fine, small dirt particles.<br>I tried RainX and glass polish, all that does is polish the dirt in those fine little pits.<p>Bottom line: After I clayed the glass, the wipers are working nearly as good as new<br>Yes, you should keep a bar of clay in the trunk <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/rolleyes.gif" BORDER="0"> and do this everytime it rains, but it does work and it does stop that chattering and squealing that can drive you nuts!<p>IT WORKS! <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://********************/smile/emthup.gif" BORDER="0"> <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://********************/smile/emthup.gif" BORDER="0"> <BR><BR>
