Heating it with a torch is also an option. No need to try to unscrew it while hot. The heat will expand it and possibly break any connection that's holding it. You are replacing the seals correct?
I had torched it the last time I went at this a year ago. I didn't really go at it that much with the heat out of fear of damaging something in the unit. You think there's any risk of that?

I have a new AOC input shaft seal, yeah. I'm also replacing the large O-ring on the back that seals to the diff housing and then I have a seal repair kit which is a new DEM gasket and some O-rings.

Got it off earlier today. Usedmy drilling guide to drill the nut at opposing ends which weakened it, then just kept cranking on it with the impact gun. I was going to make a depth guide but got impatient and took a bad measurement. Thought I was 8mm in but was actually more like 11… whoops 😬
