Picked up a spare AoC unit... was to have been all good to go, but came out of the shipped in box, aaah, somewhat less so. I have searched SS, Google, matthewsvolvosite.com, and a host of others looking for the correct assembly info for the clutch pack... plenty on pump, filter DEM, etc. but not clutch pack... Thus the questions...

There are two basic questions:

This is the best guess sequence of the pack based on how it came out of the box... is it correct?? The thrust bearing is most puzzling..

Second is this... some of the 6 small bearings in the bottom in this photo, had slipped out. Question is do the backs of the 6 little items in the photo face outward or inward as in the photo??

I had the luck of picking up a low mileage haldex for $100 since the guy bought it just for the controller and didn't want it wasting space in his garage. Its my peace of mind for when I finally manage to wear it out.

That being said, its a multi disk clutch that is hydraulically actuated and never sees too much slip, so I assume as long as they have lube in them they can last a while.

287,000 miles and haldex still works... for now. Actual AOC failure seems far less plausible than AG/DEM/Pump failure. Those clutches are immersed in fluid, and can't overheat, the computer shuts it off at 100C IIRC.

I found the haldex manual for a VW Tiguan, it has a maybe helpful exploded view... depending on the MY of the car it's identical:

Hounddogger, Thanks, that did help...

Stealthy, Yeah, I got this for the pump, DEM and such as spare parts... just in case... don't expect to use the clutch but figured it was easier to keep track of all the parts if it was one assembled unit.
